Scott Van Der Weele is the fourth generation of an entrepreneurial family. Before the age of 20, he designed and produced the first successful cable television magazine in the United States. Lawrence R. Levin is the Chairman, President and CEO of L. R. Levin Consulting, L.L.C., a strategic consulting firm. L. R. Levin Consulting, L.L.C. is a nationally known and highly respected Metropolitan-Chicago-based firm, noted for applying fundamental principles of creative structural change, to design and implement business solutions that provided the keys for enterprise success. Mr. Levin is known for his ability to lead the development of the vision, tactics and objectives of effective strategic and operational planning, as well as, for the teaching of a strong understanding of the principles and management tools that create truly values driven business operations.

Mr. Levin has extensive experience in strategic and operational planning, structuring, and focus development in a broad array of different economic segments, including with clients in the investment banking, securities, newspaper, magazine, radio and TV, commercial banking, health sciences, soft drink bottling, high-tech, software development, e-commerce, bedding and furniture components manufacturing, and plumbing component manufacturing industries.

Mr. Levin has a broad business background. He has served on boards and executive and finance committees of public and private corporations. Mr. Levin has served as the Vice Chairperson and CEO of a prominent boutique SEC registered investment advisor and NASD regulated broker/dealer serving a broad range of financial institutions. During the 3 year period in which Mr. Levin was CEO of the investment banking firm, Gross Revenues increased more than 390%, Earnings more than 870%, and earnings as a percentage of revenues went from 11% to 24%.

Before that he was the founder and for 20 years the CEO of a boutique national consulting and law firm with a broad corporate, mergers, acquisitions practice. He has worked with clients as a consultant, combining the ability of a skilled CEO with the knowledge of one of the country’s leading lawyers. While Mr. Levin is not in the active practice of law, he is now the Chairperson, CEO and President of L. R. Levin Consulting, L.L.C.

Mr. Levin is a nationally recognized expert in the analysis and solution of sales, marketing and distribution problems and the creation of innovative sales, marketing and distribution systems. His background includes expertise and extensive experience in the areas of corporate finance, mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, enterprise integration, restructuring, management and corporate governance, antitrust, securities, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property rights, and employment practices as well as complex major litigation.

Mr. Levin has worked extensively with employers including multi-national firms in bridging multicultural work practices, while creating a focused results-oriented business environment. He is highly respected for his ability to facilitate the recruitment and retention of top corporate management through creative compensation structures. He has lectured, and written on personnel issues such as The Americans with Disabilities Act, AIDS, sexual harassment, effective interviewing, and compensation structures. As part of his emphasis on creating and maintaining a productive work environment for proactive clients by solving problems before they occur, he has regularly participated in and conducted training programs for hundreds of managers about strategic issues.

Columns by Mr. Levin have appeared regularly in widely regarded publications – including Corporate Legal Times, Editor & Publisher, Beverage World, and The Disciplined Investor®. His articles also appear in numerous other publications such as Mortgage Banking. His articles include such topics as “Re-engineering Today,” “TQM, Not Just A Better Product,” “Successful Disciplined Investors Don’t Bet On Rates,” and “Legislation That Will Knock Your SOX Off!”

Mr. Levin taught research and writing at Yale Law School, and he has been an invited guest lecturer at numerous law schools and professional and business seminars throughout the United States.

Mr. Levin was born in Chicago, Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree in history and economics from the University of Arizona in 1962. He attended Yale Law School from 1962 - 1965, where he wrote his Honors Thesis on antitrust law. Mr. Levin graduated 8th in his class and Order of the Coif from Yale. Following his graduation from law school, and during the height of the civil rights movement, Mr. Levin clerked for Judge Richard T. Rives of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, based in Montgomery, Alabama and began his legal and consulting career with admission to the Illinois bar in 1965. He is also admitted to U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth, Seventh, Ninth and Eleventh Circuits as well as for the District of Columbia Circuit and Federal Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois (including Trial Bar) and Middle District of Alabama, and the U.S. Tax Court. Known for his study of Jungian psychology, he has studied at the Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland. He is also an avid underwater photographer, and a number of his impressive works have been sold throughout the world.

Kevorkian worked from Washington, DC and Chicago, IL managing and creating business, launching regional offices in the Midwest and Northeast and participating in national and international salescampaigns.

Kevorkian began his career by earning a M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of New Haven and accepting a position as an Organizational Psychologist at the United States Naval Submarine Base in Groton, CT. As part of a group focused on workflow improvement, he was responsible for research studies covering human factors and equipment design.
